TreeClan is a group of cats that live in a part of the clans that is a thick elm forest of tall trees.The founding leader, Treestar, got her name from living most of her life in a tall tree, so by extension the name was thought to be given to the clan.

TreeClan is one of the five Clans (others being StormClan, BreezeClan, and SnowClan), and consider StarClan to be their warrior ancestors. TreeClan cats live in the crooks of tree branches, for in their territory, the trees are weaved closely enough to walk on. TreeClan cats are known for their amazing skill at "tree hopping" and dislike of walking on ground. They also love sparkly things, and are known to collect stones and twoleg sparklies to decorate their dens, a trait simmular to that of a magpie. They eat mainly thrush, but they can also eat lark, squirrel, and mice. They are stuck up, thick pelted, well-fed cats with with rather fluffy fur. Since no other clan lives in the trees, they get lots of prey. They are known to be sharp witted and concerned for the other clans, but are perceived outside their Clan as being grouchy and nosy. TreeClan gets by in leaf-bare, because according to other Clans, they trap birds and squirrels in knotholes, keeping them there until there are enough to eat. TreeClan cats dislike adding fish or voles to their fresh-kill pile. Sometimes other Clan cats call them "leaf-faces", or "leaf-breath". They are quite strong and move through the tree as if they are part of it. Their speed help them capture freshkill from the trees. It is revealed that because the TreeClan cats are so big and fluffy, when they bask in the trees, sometimes Twolegs think these are kittypets who had become stuck in the trees. These incidents are kept secret from other Clans. The apprentices must be able to hunt, fight, and climb the Great Elm to become a warrior.
